When is the best time to visit Turkey?
Depending on what you want to do, there is no one best time to visit Turkey. Temperatures between 20°C and 30°C in April, May, and September through October are thought to be just right. So, it makes sense that now is the best time to visit Turkey’s ancient places, such as the Grand Array.
With its beautiful scenery, strategic location, and mix of European and Asian cultures, Turkey is easily the world’s capital country. Turkey is usually a place people go in the late summer, but anyone can go there at any time of the year if they want to.
Spring (from March to the middle of June)
October is one of the best times to visit Turkey because the weather is mild all over the country and the days are long. April can be rough.
This is the busiest time of year in Istanbul and Cappadocia. Many shops are fully booked, and prices are very high. Any way you look at it, this is the slow season for beach towns in the Aegean and Mediterranean.
Fall (from mid-September to October)
The next best time to visit Turkey is now, when the weather is usually mild. However, the days are shorter, and it may start raining again in October.
This is also the busiest time of year in Istanbul and Cappadocia, with many stores booking their rooms at the highest prices. At beach resorts, the water is still warm, there aren’t as many swarms, and it costs less.
Summer (from the middle of June to the middle of September)
In five of Turkey’s seven distinct climate areas, it is very hot, but it doesn’t rain very often, and the nights are cool in the interior. There are a lot of people at beach resorts, and prices are very high. But there are fewer people in cities. Istanbul is a great deal, with smaller groups and shorter lines to get into places. It costs less and is nicer to visit Cappadocia.
Winter (November to February)
Anywhere but the southeast, this time of year can be cold and windy, with days that are both cold and sunny. Prices are cheaper and fewer tourists are paying to visit.
A lot of people go to Turkey in March and November because the prices are cheaper, it’s easier to find places to stay, and the crowds are smaller.
NOTE:
In Turkey, one part of the country might be very cold at a certain time, while another part of the country might be enjoying a beautiful summer by the beach.
Turkish celebrations in the area
Turkey has a lot more to offer than just beautiful scenery and interesting culture. It’s basically seen as a place where many events take place. When you go to Turkey, you can enjoy all kinds of festivals, from music and sports to outdoor events, religion festivals, lifestyle festivals, and nightlife festivals.
In addition to the holidays that people in almost every city in Turkey celebrate, there are also a number of festivals that people all over the world celebrate in major cities like Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and Antalya.
Folk Dance Festivals:
At folk dance festivals, you can see the best dance groups from Turkey perform a variety of traditional Turkish dances. In the end, what else do you need when you go to these kinds of places?
Seker and Kurban Festivals:
Traveling is hard during the Seker and Kurban festivals, so you should make your reservations early if you want to sit on a long-distance train or plane.
Another important thing to keep in mind is that many stores, banks, show halls, and government offices are closed during these times.
Camel Wrestling:
A camel wrestling event takes place every January near Ephesus, which is one of Turkey’s most famous archaeological sites.
Global Aspendos Opera & Ballet Festival:
Aspendos is one of the most famous theaters in the world, and the festival brings the best plays and dance companies from around the world to the public’s attention.
Oil Wrestling Festival:
Forty groups of drums and shawms play at this amazing service, creating an exciting atmosphere. Once that is done, the bright belt is led through the city in a parade while prayers are said in the Selimiye Mosque.
Mesir Paste Festival:
Talk to people to praise the Manisa Mesir Paste Festival; it’s so fun to get on Mesir, which is also known as power gum.
The Polonezkoy Cherry Festival is a great way to honor the traditions and way of life of the Polish people who live in Istanbul, Turkey.
Average Number of Tourists in Turkey
In 2019, a record 45.1 million people from outside of Turkey visited. Unfamiliar sights in Turkey were growing every year until 2016, when the tourism business dropped drastically in the area.

On the other hand, the number of tourists visiting Turkey jumped 67.4% year-over-year to 699,330 in December 2020, even though travel restrictions were raised to deal with the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
Most of the tourists who came down were from Iran (-75.4%), Germany (-75.4%), Iraq (-60.7%), Russia (-30.8%), and Bulgaria (-55.3%). Seeing the whole year of 2020, the number of travelers dropped by 72 million to 12.73 million.
