Kodaikanal:
Kodaikanal is a lovely hill town in the Western Ghats, in the Palani hills. People call the city “the princess of hill stations” because of how beautiful it is and how popular it is. The city in Tamilnadu’s Dindigul district is 2133 meters above sea level and sits on top of a hill. This is another Tamil Nadu hill station.
The city of Kodaikanal is in the valley between the Cross and the Gundar. In the north of Kodaikanal, there is a hill that drops off to the villages of Villapati and Palangi. In the past, the hills went all the way up to the Lower Palani Hills. It is south of Kodaikanal that you can find the Kamamb Valley. In the west, there is a hill that leads to the Manjampatti Valley and the Annamai Hills.
In Tamil, Kodaikanal means “the forest’s gift.” There are four versions, though, because the word Kodai can mean four different things. The first one means “the end of the forest,” the second one means “jungle forests,” the third one means “summer forests,” and the fourth one means “gift of the forest.”
Yercaud:
The hill town Yercaud is in the Shevaroy Hills in Tamil Nadu. It is in the Eastern Ghats. It is at an elevation of 1515 meters, and many people come to enjoy the beautiful scenery and nice weather. This is another Tamil Nadu hill station.
